Ash Thampi, APC
The Full Story
Hello! I’m Ash Thampi, an Associate Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting adults on their mental health journeys. I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in addiction from East Carolina University and dual master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Applied Psychology from India.
My professional journey has taken me across cultures and settings—from working in Ireland to Raleigh, North Carolina—in hospital and school environments, where I’ve worked with individuals across various ages and backgrounds. I specialize in helping clients work through trauma, anxiety, anger, addiction, and depression while also guiding them in developing healthier interpersonal skills.
My approach is person-centered and rooted in empathy, always aiming to create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where healing can take place.
In my practice, I incorporate evidence-based techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT), and Interpersonal Counseling. As someone with multicultural competence, I deeply value the diverse experiences of each individual, and I strive to tailor my approach to honor and meet the unique needs of every client I work with.
